 The founder Istvan Liong has always loved art in general but especially eclectic folklore art from around the world.

From Africa to the Orient and the America’s. This deep love and appreciation is fueled by the fact that Istvan was born and raised in the multi-cultural Caribbean and South America.

 His multi-cultural heritage and his love for the arts, fashion and interior design were the inspiration to start IAL Design. Istvan is from native-Surinamese, Hasidic Jewish, Haka Chinese, Indian, Scottish, Dutch and West African descent. Growing up in a multi-cultural environment he was thought the significance and beauty of his rich heritage.

Each culture was in some form or way represented in his upbringing which pushed his open mindedness for different cultures.

 The company’s mission is to offer the world high quality European made products with the rich artistic style aesthetics of South America and the Caribbean.
